"Respect Your Mother" is a message to uplift women of color. At the same time it is depicting the continent of Africa, as the source of life, origin of mankind, the mother we all have in common.

Re-spect, means to "look back". We can examine our past so we can heal in the present. In our current understanding respect also means to listen. Honor women of color, who have sacrificed so much.
